The creators of Ultimate Adventure were aware that a criminal element had crept into their electronic world. It wasn't just Draxx. The wide appeal of their wonder land had attracted a variety of mobsters and sociopaths who frequently used their alternate reality as a meeting place for deal making sessions.
When it was first brought to their attention, UA quietly decided to give authorities free reign of the game world. This created a whole new breed of undercover cops.
UA had acted quickly enough that the bad guys never got a chance to overrun the game.
Players had no idea that Dragon's Spawn Keep was actually the nerve center for federal investigators... and the NetCops wanted to keep it that way. Any Bug Exploiter that tried to penetrate the walls of DS Keep quickly found their accounts cancelled.
Players in UA had the option of forming guilds. Guilds presented two additional colors of auras and names. Green indicated someone who was a member of your guild. Orange was indicitive of guild that you were at war with. Guilds could also chose wether their membership roster's were publicly accessible or not.
This was very convieniant for the NetCops. Their roster, of course, was not publicly accessible. But anyone who highlighted green, was another Agent. No one highlighted orange to them.
Yim Wing Chun, Jessica, and Tormod MacLeod sat in a private room in DS Keep.
"We're setting you up with a large patio house near Redwood," said Tormod, "500k has been placed in each of your bank boxes, but you can always come back here for supplies. If you send a carrier pigeon to Noah, he'll send a gate to bring you directly back to the Keep. We'll keep you updated with any information that we get on Draxx. If you find him or any of the other three... notify us immediately."
He turned to look at Yim.
"Your abilities will probably allow you to spot him first... Then it will be up to you, Miss Mitchell," he said, looking at Jessica, "to tag him with a tracer".
"Sounds good, Cap," said Jessica, "but could you try calling us by our character names while we're in game? It's called roll playing, you'll find the deffinition in the dictionary".
