Ultimate Adventure

It had been seven months since Misty and Bev had "joined the team". They had been poked and prodded, injected and implanted in more ways they could keep track of. They also had to maintain a grueling routine of physical conditioning and combat training. Bev's "problem" had been corrected and she was now a toned, if somewhat amazonian, athletic woman with rather striking features.

Some of the things Misty used to do on the net, like jumping off of fire escapes with ease, were now in her ability to do in Real Life. Her mental abilities had been honed to the point where she could now locate and target a person a mile away, and pick apart their psyche with surgical precision. She could move a coffee cup across a table, ignite a candle and snuff it out again, all without lifting a finger. On one occasion, she even managed to heat her breakfast pancakes without a microwave.

They hadn't seen Agent Thompson since that first encounter. Now he sat with them in a conference room.

"It's time," he began, "we discussed our adversary, the elusive Draxx and his cohorts. They seem to prefer the environment of the game 'Ultimate Adventure' to enact their business transactions. Apparently, they have numerous accounts, set up under false identities, which they use to access the game in any number of guises. Your initial task will be to locate them and then devise a method of tracking them when they are logged into the game. Our eventual goal, is to uncover the true identities of these four criminals and track them down in the flesh. We would also like to recover the data they have recently stolen as some of it pertains directly to National Security. If this data finds it way into the wrong hands, the threat to our Nation could be quite severe. In light of this, they have been classified as a Clear and Present Danger and Extreme Measures have been authorized. We would prefer to bring them in alive, but failing that, we are authorized to terminate them in order to eliminate the danger they pose to every American citizen".

"Whatever you say, Capt. America. How do we start"?

Thompson glared at Bev for a second and then fixed his gaze on the ceiling.

"You start," he replied, "By playing the game".
